One of most integral features of the Quran are the practical legal guidelines laid down by Allah. Such guidelines gained much greater prominence once the Prophet (pbuh) migrated to Medina and played a central role in the lives of subsequent generations of Muslims.
This series of discourses examines the verses of the Quran which have been focussed upon by jurists in deducing Islamic law.
Verses are considered from a variety of perspectives including the prominent views of exegetical commentators, classical jurists, traditionists, grammarians and linguistic scholars.
The aim of the series is to provide an insight into the existence and significance of the legislative verses of the Quran and the way in which Muslim scholars have arrived at understandings of textual authenticity of key religious practices.
